- No Cracking on Bending: When you put the coil into a roll-forming machine to make corrugated roofs or fold the edges for a wall panel, the metal undergoes stress. 5005 in H14 or H24 temper has excellent bending performance. Coating Options
We apply the paint using an advanced continuous coil-coating line. You have two main choices:
PE (Polyester) Coating
Thickness: 25–30 μm.
Performance: Offers a smooth, rich finish at a lower cost.
Best For: Indoor ceilings, interior decoration panels, or mild outdoor environments.
Buyer Warning: Do not use PE coating for roofs in areas with intense sunlight. Under strong UV exposure, PE paint will begin to chalk (turn powdery) and fade after a few years.
PVDF (Fluorocarbon) Coating
Thickness: ≥40 μm (usually 2 or 3 layers).
Performance: PVDF is the heavy-duty standard for outdoor construction. It has extreme resistance to UV light, salt air, and industrial pollution.
Best For: Outdoor roofing, exterior wall cladding, and harsh climates (like the Middle East).
Buyer Value: It costs slightly more, but it keeps the color stable and bright for over 15 to 20 years with almost no maintenance.
Processing and Forming
When you receive a 5005 color coated coil from GNEE, it is ready for immediate processing. Our customers regularly run these coils through high-speed roll formers to produce:

Application of 5005 aluminum color coils
1. Architectural Decoration
This is the biggest market for 5005 coils. Thanks to its anti-rust features and excellent surface flatness, builders use it to manufacture roofing panels, exterior curtain walls, interior decorative panels, suspended ceilings, aluminum honeycomb panels, and roller shutter doors. It is strong enough for building exteriors and looks premium indoors.
2. Food Packaging
Because 5005 aluminum is non-toxic and has great deep-drawing formability, it is highly suitable for the food and beverage industry. It is commonly processed into pressure and non-pressure food cans, can caps, bottle caps, pull rings, food boxes, and various sealed packaging materials.
3. Electronic Appliances
Home appliance brands need metal shells that look beautiful, resist moisture, and do not rust. 5005 colored coils are widely used to make the outer panels for air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, kitchen cabinets, and exterior shells for digital electronic products.
4. Printing Industry
The printing industry requires base materials with an extremely flat and clean surface. 5005 aluminum coils are highly adaptable for manufacturing high-precision PS (Presensitized) plates, CTP (Computer-to-Plate), and UV-CTP printing base plates.
5. Transportation & Signs
To save weight and reduce fuel costs, the transportation sector relies heavily on aluminum. 5005 is processed into box truck shells, inner walls, car body panels, train compartments, and ship interior panels. Because it holds paint perfectly, it is also the standard material for road traffic signs, outdoor advertising boards, and hard-shell luggage.
Quality Control
A major problem with importing colored coils is bad paint adhesion or mismatched colors between batches. Here is how GNEE ensures you get reliable material:
- Paint Thickness Test: We use digital micron meters to ensure the PVDF or PE layers meet the exact thickness requested.
- T-Bend Test: We physically bend the painted metal sharply (≤2T). If the paint cracks or tapes off, the batch is rejected. You can roll-form our coils safely.
- Color Consistency (ΔE): We use a computer spectrophotometer to check the color against the RAL standard. We keep the ΔE value strictly controlled so your whole building looks uniform in color.
- Lab Documents: Every shipment comes with a standard Mill Test Certificate (MTC) proving the chemical composition and mechanical strength. We also welcome SGS or TÜV inspections.
Packing and Shipping
Coils are heavy and easily damaged by ocean moisture. We use heavy-duty marine packaging:
- Aluminum Coil Orientation: We support both "Eye to Wall" and "Eye to Sky" packing based on your forklift equipment.
- Protection: The painted surface can be covered with a clear PE protective film to prevent scratching.
- Moisture Barrier: The coil is wrapped in waterproof kraft paper and heavy plastic film, with desiccants inside to prevent white rust.
- Pallets: Placed on strong, fumigated wooden pallets and locked down with heavy steel straps so they do not roll inside the container.
