Q1: What is the difference between 6061-T6 and 6061-T651?
A: T6 is standard heat-treated. T651 is T6 state plus a 1.5%–3% stretching process to remove internal stress. T651 is essential if you are doing extensive CNC machining to prevent the material from "walking" or warping.
Q2: Does 6061 aluminum have good corrosion resistance?
A: Yes, 6061 has very good resistance to atmospheric corrosion. While not as high as 5083 in pure seawater, it is widely used in marine environments when structural strength is also required.
Q3: Can 6061 aluminum be anodized?
