6101-aluminium-coil contains 0.3%～0.5% Mg and 0.4%～0.7% Si. Since the solubility of M92 Si in the 6101 aluminium alloy increases with the increase in temperature, the strength of the 6101-aluminium-coil for busbar can be improved by solution treatment and artificial aging without affecting its good electrical conductivity. 6101 serves as a high-strength aluminum material for buses, electrical conductors and radiator materials, bus conductors, radiator materials, etc.
Chemical Properties - 6101-aluminium-coil

6101-aluminium-coil is best suited for applications involving moderate strength and maximum electrical conductivity. It is similar to alloy 6063, but with minor chemistry changes which enhance electrical conductivity. Although slightly lower in conductivity than alloy 1350, it offers greater strength. It is typically used for bus bar and other electrical applications.
6101-aluminium-coil is available in various temper conditions and, consequently, does not need additional heat treatment. The wide variety of tempers provides different strengths, formability, and electrical conductivity levels, allowing for greater design flexibility.

6101-aluminium-coil are the principal alloys in the pure aluminum group. Due to their relative low strength they are not commonly used in general fabrication. They have excellent corrosion resistance which allows them to be widely used in food and chemical industry applications. On account of their ease of fabrication they are used where formability requirements are severe while the associated mechanical strengths are not critical.
