3003-aluminum-plate-vs-3004-aluminum-plate.pdf
The most popular antirust aluminum is made of al Mn alloys, which are found in the 3003 and 3004 series of aluminum plates. This alloy's strength is not very high-it is just marginally stronger than industrial pure aluminum-and heat treatment is not an option. Its mechanical properties-high plasticity in the annealing stage, good plasticity in semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity in cold work hardening, strong corrosion resistance, good weldability, and poor machinability-are therefore improved by cold working techniques. Wire rod is used to create rivets. It is mostly used for low-load parts that need to be highly pliable and have good weldability and work in liquid or gas media, including mailboxes, conduits for gasoline or lubricating oil, and different liquid containers.

Weldability, corrosion resistance, and formability are all strong points of 3003 aluminum sheet. Common applications for 3003 aluminum plate include drilling equipment, transportation equipment, armor, pressure tanks that require stringent fire protection, car and aviation plate weldments, refrigeration systems, television towers, and ships.
Compared to 3003 aluminum plate, 3004 aluminum plate is stronger, more formable, and more resistant to corrosion. It is necessary to use parts that are stronger than 3003 aluminum plate.
Chemical products, sheet metal processing parts, building materials, building baffles, cable ducts, sewers, various lamp parts, beverage cans, wave plates, building materials, colored aluminum plates, and electric lamp heads are among the main applications for 3004 aluminum strip.
In terms of composition and intended applications, 3004 and 3003 aluminum are quite similar. However, the 1% magnesium increase in 3004 results in greater strength. The aluminum alloy 3004 cannot be heated, just like the other alloys in the 3xxx family. Magnesium is added just enough to make 3004 almost as strong as 5052 aluminum.
