5083 H321 H116 Heat Treatment Aluminum Plate

The primary alloying elements of 5083 aluminum plate are magnesium (Mg content ranges from 4.0% to 4.9%), with trace amounts of silicon (Si≤0.4%), copper (Cu≤0.1%), zinc (Zn≤0.25%), manganese (Mn 0.40% to 1.0%), titanium (Ti≤0.15%), chromium (Cr 0.05% to 0.25%), and iron (Fe≤0.4%).

These components work well together to give 5083 aluminum plate its medium strength, outstanding resistance to corrosion, excellent weldability, and good cold workability. Because of this, it is frequently utilized in important shipbuilding components like the bulkhead, deck, and hull structure.

Different heat treatment states

5083-h321 aluminum Plate

The stabilized treatment state of 5083 H321 aluminum plate is achieved through incomplete annealing and work hardening. The aluminum plate can have some strength and good toughness in this state. Its benefits are fully illustrated in real-world applications.

For instance, 5083 aluminum plate in the H321 state is ideal for ship superstructure manufacturing because of the strict specifications for the material's strength and formability. While its good formability allows it to be processed into a variety of complex shapes to meet the diverse needs of ship design, it can also withstand certain external forces and impacts to ensure the stability of the structure.

The 5083 aluminum plate in the H321 state can undergo surface treatment procedures such as wire drawing and lamination, which not only improves the plate's appearance but also strengthens its resistance to corrosion. Regarding welding performance, it works well with a range of welding techniques, including resistance welding, MIG, and TIG. The total structural integrity of the ship depends on the high weld strength and difficulty of cracking after welding.

5083-h116 aluminum Plate

5083 H116 aluminum plate is one of the strongest non-heat-treatable aluminum alloys. The strength index is outstanding, with tensile strength σb (MPa) > 305 MPa, specified tensile strength σ0.2 (MPa) ≥ 215 MPa, elongation δ10 (%) ≥ 20, and elongation δ5 (%) ≥ 12. Aluminum sheet in this condition provides good corrosion resistance and machinability.

In shipbuilding, 5083 aluminum sheet in the H116 state can be used for elements that must endure large external stresses and be exposed to hostile marine environments for an extended period of time, such as structural parts of the hull's underwater section. With its inherent strength and corrosion resistance, it efficiently resists seawater erosion as well as the influence of water currents and waves, ensuring ship safety in challenging marine conditions.

Other tempers

The 5083 O aluminum plate has been heat treated, which increases its ductility and plasticity, making it easier to shape during processing. Surface treatment methods for aluminum plates in this stage are various, and they can be anodized or sprayed to meet specific needs, which not only improves aesthetics but also increases wear resistance. It is commonly utilized in ship interior decoration and small structural sections with high aluminum plate forming requirements but low strength requirements.
