EN 573-3 AW-5083-H112 Pipe

EN-573-3-AW-5083-H112-Pipe.pdf

Because of its exceptional corrosion resistance, medium strength, and non-heat-treatable nature, EN AW-5083 is also appropriate for use in maritime applications. Simple hollow shapes can be extruded, but the alloy's relatively limited formability restricts the complexity of the shapes that may be produced. Common uses include welded structures, low-temperature applications (such as cryogenic equipment), and pressure equipment.

In essence, 5083 aluminum is a non-heat treatable alloy with 0.4–1.0% Mn and 4–4.9% Mg. It is a reasonably priced alloy with strong corrosion resistance, good cold forming, welding, and spot welding qualities, and moderate strength. Because aluminum alloy 5083 may be processed to a moderate degree of superplasticity, its superplastic forming is becoming more and more popular for a variety of parts in non-structural applications that don't require significant forming strains. The alloy is frequently used in the following temper conditions: 5083-H116, H321, H111, H112, etc.
