What is the difference between aluminum foil waterproofing membrane and waterproof coating water?
The difference in performance. There are two main types of waterproof coatings based on different raw materials, namely polyurethane and polymer cement-based waterproof coatings. The former contains toxic substances, while the latter is relatively environmentally friendly.
However, waterproof coatings generally exist in liquid form and are applied by brushing, so they are fluid and have insufficient tensile strength. Therefore, they are generally not suitable for waterproofing on uneven base surfaces such as color steel plates. The aluminum foil waterproofing membrane has very high tensile strength and soft material, and can be used for waterproofing on various rough and uneven base layers. However, in terms of ductility, aluminum foil waterproof membrane is slightly weaker than waterproof coating.
Differences in construction technology. Before applying the waterproof coating, it needs to be mixed evenly according to the proportion. It requires professionals to operate it. It needs to be applied three or four times to achieve the waterproof effect. The entire construction process is relatively cumbersome and complicated. In addition, waterproof coatings have relatively high requirements for the surface of the base layer, which must be smooth, dry, and free of holes.
