11.84 Tons 6082 T6 Aluminum Bars Exported To Dubai

GNEE recently finished manufacturing and exporting an 11.84-ton shipment of 6082 T6 aluminum round bars. The cargo was loaded in Qingdao, China, and shipped to Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, UAE. This order was placed by an engineering buyer in the Middle East. They needed 14 different diameter specifications in a single container. The bars will be used for standard CNC machining, structural fabrication, and industrial equipment parts.

Buying multiple sizes in one shipment is a common procurement pattern for engineering and machining companies in the UAE. This strategy reduces freight costs and simplifies inventory management. However, many mills reject mixed orders because they require frequent machine adjustments. GNEE accepts these complex orders. We manage the production, packing, and shipping of both small precision bars and heavy large-diameter bars at the same time.

Why Choose 6082 T6 Aluminum

The buyer specifically selected the 6082 alloy in the T6 temper. In the 6000 series aluminum group, 6082 offers the highest structural strength. It replaces the older 6061 alloy in many European and Middle Eastern engineering applications.

1. Structural Strength
The T6 heat treatment gives 6082 a high yield strength. It is regularly used for load-bearing frameworks. In normal applications, you will find this material in factory roof structures, scaffolding systems, and transport trailer frames.

2. CNC Machinability
Engineering buyers need material that cuts cleanly. 6082 T6 produces tight chips when cut on a lathe or CNC machine. This prevents long metal strings from tangling around the cutting tools. It saves time and reduces tool wear. It is ideal for making custom threaded parts and mechanical gears.

3. Corrosion Resistance in the UAE
Dubai has a harsh coastal climate with high humidity and high temperatures. 6082 aluminum has excellent natural corrosion resistance. It performs well outdoors without painting. It is commonly used for marine boat fittings, outdoor structural brackets, and water treatment facility parts.

Production and Tolerances

Manufacturing bars from Ø8 mm up to Ø510 mm requires different production methods. GNEE operates integrated production lines to handle this. For bars under Ø200 mm, we use hot extrusion and cold drawing. This ensures a smooth surface and tight dimensions. For heavy bars like Ø450 mm and Ø510 mm, we use hot rolling and forging.

All bars in this shipment comply with standard international manufacturing codes, including ASTM B221, ASTM B211, EN 573, and EN 755.
When buying bars for CNC machining, dimensional tolerance is the most important factor. If a bar is out of tolerance, it will not fit into the machine collet.

Quality Inspection

As a direct manufacturer, GNEE maintains a strict quality control system. Trading companies often buy from multiple unknown mills, resulting in mixed quality. We produce and test everything in-house.

Every batch of 6082 T6 aluminum goes through three testing phases before packing.
1. Raw Material Testing
Before casting, we use an optical emission spectrometer to check the chemical composition. For 6082, we strictly control the Silicon (Si) and Magnesium (Mg) levels. This guarantees the material will respond correctly to the T6 heat treatment.
2. Mechanical Testing
We cut samples from the finished bars and run them through a tensile testing machine. We verify the Ultimate Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, and Brinell Hardness. The T6 temper must meet the strict minimum strength requirements set by EN 755 standards.
3. Final Visual and Size Check
Workers measure the diameters using calibrated micrometers. We inspect 100% of the bar surfaces to ensure there are no cracks, deep scratches, or rolling marks. Finally, we weigh the cargo to match the packing list.
For this Dubai shipment, we provided the buyer with a complete Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1. This document proves to the final end-user that the material is certified and tested.

Export Packing and Logistics

Shipping bare metal from China to the Middle East takes about 15 to 25 days by sea. The high salt content and moisture in the ocean air can cause "white rust" (aluminum oxidation) on the surface of the bars.
To prevent this, GNEE uses a specific Middle East export packing standard.

  • First, we apply a light coat of anti-rust oil to the bars.
  • Second, we bundle the smaller bars together and wrap them in thick plastic film.
  • Third, we cover the bundles with a waterproof woven material.
  • Finally, we pack everything into heavy fumigated wooden cases.

For the massive Ø510 mm forged bars, we provide special end-cap protection and secure them to heavy-duty steel frames. This stops the heavy bars from rolling inside the container and crushing the smaller Ø8 mm bars. The entire 11.84-ton cargo was safely loaded into one 40FT standard container at Qingdao Port and shipped CIF to Jebel Ali Port.

FAQ

Q1: Can I buy multiple different diameters in a single order?

Yes. GNEE specializes in mixed-specification orders. As shown in this project, we can supply Ø8 mm precision bars and Ø510 mm forged bars in the same shipping container. This saves you from sourcing from multiple different suppliers.

Q2: What is the standard tolerance of your aluminum bars?

We manufacture according to ASTM and EN standards. Typically, bars under 50 mm have a tolerance of ±0.05 mm. If your CNC production requires tighter custom tolerances, let our sales team know before quoting.

Q3: Do you offer custom cutting services?

Yes. While standard length is usually 3000 mm or 6000 mm, we operate precision saw cutting systems. We can pre-cut the bars to your specific required lengths with a standard accuracy of ±1 mm.

Q4: How do you protect the aluminum bars during sea freight?

We use anti-rust oil, waterproof plastic wrapping, and strong wooden cases. For heavy bars, we use steel frames. This packaging standard is specifically designed to protect the metal from the humid, salty air during transit to the Middle East.

Q5: What documents do you provide for customs clearance?

We supply a complete set of export documents, including the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, and the EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate. We also support third-party inspections like SGS or BV before loading.
