Why Aluminum Roofing?
Aluminum roofing sheets are replacing traditional steel roofs in many industrial, commercial, and residential buildings. The reasons are simple: aluminum is light, it does not rust, and it lasts a long time.
In regions like the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman), the weather is harsh. High temperatures, strong UV rays, and salty coastal air easily destroy cheap metal roofs. Colored aluminum roofing provides a stable and reliable solution for these climates, keeping buildings safe and maintenance costs low.
Are you planning a new warehouse or factory project in the Middle East? We supply full-range aluminum roofing sheets directly from our factory. our team will provide a material recommendation and a quick price estimate within 24 hours.

Steel vs. Aluminum
Many buyers ask why they should pay more for aluminum instead of galvanized steel.
- No Rust: Steel will eventually rust when the zinc coating scratches. Aluminum creates its own oxide layer. It never rusts, which is perfect for coastal projects.
- Lightweight: Aluminum is only 1/3 the weight of steel. This means you need less heavy steel framework to support the roof, saving money on the building structure.
- Easy to Install: Workers can cut, drill, and lift aluminum sheets much easier and faster.

Coating Options
For buyers, choosing the wrong paint can lead to severe color fading and paint peeling within just two years. GNEE offers two reliable prepainted systems, applied through an advanced coil-coating process to ensure perfectly uniform thickness.
1. PE (Polyester) Coating
- Paint Thickness: 25–30 μm.
- Performance: PE paint offers good adhesion, rich color choices, and a smooth finish. However, its resistance to strong Ultraviolet (UV) rays is limited. Under intense sun, PE coatings may begin to turn powdery on the surface and fade over time.
- Best For: Indoor applications, ceiling panels, temporary warehouses, or projects in regions with mild weather and low UV exposure.
- Buyer Advice: If you are building a standard storage shed on a tight budget in a non-desert area, PE is the most cost-effective option.
2. PVDF (Fluorocarbon) Coating
- Paint Thickness: ≥40 μm (usually applied in 2 or 3 layers).
- Performance: PVDF is the premium standard for outdoor metal roofing. Because of its strong chemical bonds, it provides exceptional resistance to UV radiation, industrial pollution, and desert sandstorms. It will not chalk, peel, or crack easily.
- Best For: Harsh outdoor environments, especially the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia), coastal industrial zones, and high-end commercial buildings.
- Buyer Advice: For long-term projects, always choose PVDF. While the initial cost is slightly higher than PE, it guarantees color stability and structural protection for 15 to 20 years, saving you massive maintenance costs later.

Color Consistency Control
At GNEE, we strictly control ΔE (color difference) values during the coating process by utilizing computer-aided color matching technology. Whether you order one container or ten, the color remains consistent in appearance.
Sizes, Thickness, and Profiles
Every building requires specific dimensions to meet structural load and drainage designs. When you buy roofing sheets from GNEE, we manufacture them strictly according to your engineering drawings.
Thickness Selection Logic
While we can supply thicknesses from 0.2 mm to 6.0 mm, roofing typically uses specific ranges:
- 0.4 mm – 0.6 mm: Standard choice for regular factory roofs and residential buildings with close purlin spacing.
- 0.7 mm – 1.0 mm: High-strength choice for wide-span warehouses or areas that experience heavy wind loads and heavy rainfall.
- 1.2 mm and above: Used mostly for heavy structural standing seam roofs or large public facilities like airports.
Do you need a mix of different sizes, colors, and wave profiles in one container? GNEE specializes in mixed orders to save your shipping space and sourcing time. Contact our sales team now to build your custom order list.
Feeding Width vs. Effective Width
- Feeding Width: The width of the flat aluminum coil before it goes into the pressing machine (e.g., 1000 mm or 1200 mm).
- Effective Width (Coverage): The actual width the sheet covers on the roof after profiling and overlapping (e.g., a 1000 mm flat sheet might have an effective width of 840 mm or 900 mm depending on the wave shape).
- Buyer Advice: Always calculate your total order quantity based on the effective width to ensure you have enough material to cover the entire roof area.
Length and Shipping Limits
We can cut roofing sheets to any custom length. However, international sea freight sets the practical limits:
20ft Container: Maximum sheet length is around 5.8 meters.
40ft (40HQ) Container: Maximum sheet length is around 11.8 meters.
If your roof is 20 meters long, you will need to order two overlapping sheets (e.g., 10m and 11.5m to allow for overlap).
Roofing Profiles (Wave Shapes)
We press flat prepainted aluminum into various profiles to match your drainage and load requirements:
- Corrugated (Curved Wave): The classic sinusoidal shape. It offers smooth and fast water runoff, making it ideal for agricultural buildings, standard sheds, and curved roof designs.
- Trapezoidal (Box Profile): Features flat valleys and high ribs. This geometric shape provides much stronger structural rigidity than corrugated waves. It allows for wider purlin spacing and handles high-volume rainwater drainage perfectly. It is the most common choice for modern industrial plants.

Surface Textures
Besides standard smooth finishes, GNEE offers stucco (orange peel) or worm-pattern embossed surfaces. Embossing reduces sunlight glare (which is often required for buildings near highways or airports) and helps hide minor scratches that might occur during installation.
Quality Check
To make sure you do not receive faded colors or thin sheets, GNEE runs a strict quality control lab. Before we pack your order, we test:
- Paint Thickness: Using micrometers to ensure the PVDF or PE paint meets the standard.
- Adhesion Test: Checking the paint bonding strength so it does not peel off when bent.
- Color Control (ΔE): We use computers to check color differences. Your whole roof will look exactly the same color, even if it is a large batch.
- Tolerance Check: Calipers are used to make sure the metal thickness and width match your order exactly.
Our factory follows GB/T 3880, ASTM, and EN standards. Every single shipment comes with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) to prove the quality.

Packing and Shipping
Sea freight to ports like Jebel Ali (UAE) or Dammam (Saudi Arabia) takes 15 to 30 days. We use heavy-duty export packaging to keep the metal safe from ocean salt and rough handling:
- Optional PE film on the painted surface to stop scratches.
- Wrapped in waterproof kraft paper.
- Placed on strong, export-standard wooden pallets.
- Locked down tightly with strong steel straps.

Aluminum prices change daily based on the SMM. Do not rely on outdated quotes. If you want to know the exact cost for your roofing sheets delivered to your local port. We will give you a clear, honest price sheet.
