5052-H114 pattern aluminum plate

Patterned (embossed) aluminum plate is produced by pressing a raised pattern onto the aluminum sheet surface, providing anti-slip, decorative and reinforcing functions. Among the alloys used, 5052 combines the anti-slip benefit with the best corrosion resistance of the common pattern-plate grades, making 5052-H114 patterned plate a preferred material for wet, high-traffic and transport applications.

1. 5052-H114 pattern aluminum plate Overview

The raised pattern on the surface gives the plate a non-slip texture and improves its rigidity per unit weight. Common pattern designs are the 1-rib, 2-rib, 3-rib and 5-rib configurations. The alloy grades available for patterned plate include 1060, 3003, 5052, 5083, 5754 and 6061; the choice of grade determines the strength and corrosion resistance of the finished plate.

2. Key Features

2.1 Good Anti-Slip Effect

The raised pattern significantly increases surface friction, giving the plate a good anti-slip effect. It is used in cold rooms, subway anti-skid flooring, bus anti-skid plates, and the inner walls of large transport vehicles, where workers and passengers move on wet or polished surfaces.

2.2 Excellent Oxidation Resistance

5052 is an aluminum-magnesium alloy whose natural oxide film is stable in humid and mildly corrosive environments. Because of this material property - not the pattern geometry - 5052 patterned plate can remain in contact with liquids for long periods without oxidation, making it suitable for cold rooms and refrigerators where condensation and repeated cleaning expose the plate to moisture.

4. Material Background: 5052-H114 pattern aluminum plate

5052 is the workhorse aluminum-magnesium alloy of the 5xxx series. In the H114 temper (strain hardened to a light work-hardened level with good formability), the plate provides typical minimum yield strength of about 145-165 MPa and tensile strength of about 220-240 MPa, depending on thickness per EN 485 or ASTM B209. The alloy is readily weldable, forms well, and offers excellent corrosion resistance in marine, food-industry and cold-storage environments - properties that make it the material of choice where the patterned plate must withstand both mechanical wear and moisture.

5. Typical Applications

  • Anti-skid flooring and steps: cold rooms, warehouses, subway stations, factory floors;
  • Transportation: bus floors, vehicle cargo linings, inner walls of large transport vehicles, ship decks and platforms;
  • Cold storage and food industry: refrigerated rooms and cabinets where long-term moisture contact is normal;
  • Architectural panels: decorative and protective panels needing a durable, easy-to-clean, non-slip surface.
  • pattern aluminum plate
