Blister packaging is commonly used for pharmaceuticals in the pharmaceutical industry. These include so-called push-in blisters (or shorter "blisters"), molded plastics with cavities for individual tablets, and push-in closures made from aluminum foil, called blister films or cover film. As a result, capsules and tablets are hygienically clean and protected.

Aluminum blister cover foil
Both soft and hard aluminum foil are used as cover foils for push-in packaging.
Traditionally, rigid aluminum foil is used. This has only a small amount of stretch. The benefit of this is that you can snap off relatively quickly and release the drug with relatively little force.
On the other hand, if you use soft aluminum foil, you must apply more force to reach the drug because the tensile force of the film is higher. Therefore, blister packs with a covering foil made of soft aluminum are considered more resistant to accidental ingestion by children.
